About us
Forestdale Metal Products Inc. is a growing contract manufacturer, established in 1997.
Our Story
Founded in 1997, Forestdale Metal Products Inc. is a Canadian contract manufacturer.
Seizing opportunities in metal fabrication while supporting the local community, Forestdale initially focused on stamping, with its first major asset being a used punch press. We quickly expanded into new industries, including furniture manufacturing, where we partnered with leading brands to develop efficient stamping and spot-welding processes for furniture components. We also entered the snow and ice industry, creating parts for salt spreaders—two sectors in which we remain active today.

In 2000, our rapid growth led us to move to our current premises, allowing us to upgrade our equipment. By 2004, we added a 5,000-square-foot expansion and fully embraced lean manufacturing, transitioning to a build-to-order Just-in-Time (JIT) approach. This shift reduced waste, improved efficiency, and ensured timely delivery with minimal defects, shaping our operational strategy.

A significant milestone came in 2013 when we modified our shop layout, added robotic welding, and launched a stock-and-ship program. That same year, we also enhanced staff training in advanced manufacturing methods, making our team more flexible and efficient. In 2018, we further strengthened our capabilities by achieving CWB 47.1 and 47.2 certifications for welding of steel and aluminum. That same year, we invested in a Mazak 4 KW Optiplex Nexus laser cutter, integrated with a Tekmag tower automation system. This investment eliminated the need for stocked laser blanks, enhanced flexibility in prototyping and design, and marked our transition from stamping to a burn-bend-weld manufacturing model, which continues to drive our success today. In 2022, we reached a total of six CNC press brakes in our facilities, allowing us to quickly and efficiently process high-volume orders.

As demand increased, we expanded our Main St. location in 2023 by adding a third building, significantly increasing capacity and floor space. In 2024, we entered the tube fabrication industry with the acquisition of a local tube fabrication company and the addition of a CNC BLM Elect 40 tube bender, solidifying our position as a full-service metal fabrication partner. That same year and into 2025, we expanded our Engineering and Client Success teams to better serve our clients. In 2025, we further advanced our capabilities with the installation of an AMADA ENSIS AJe 12kW laser cutter with automation, reinforcing our commitment to efficiency and precision.
Through decades of innovation, investment, and adaptation, Forestdale has grown into a dynamic and reliable contract manufacturing partner. We are committed to continuous improvement, investing in cutting-edge technology, and providing reliable, high-quality supply chain solutions.
